So I arrived back in London on Monday 18th March 2019, I had my bail restrictions lifted by The Met Police as I was due to appear in court the following morning. I visited my solicitor as was arranged, I then met up with friends and visited Parliament Square, where I was almost immediately surrounded by 8-9 Met Police officers who were attempting to arrest me because they assumed I was in breach of my bail conditions, I argued the point for around 30 mins as I knew I was indeed allowed back in London, after radioing through they confirmed I hadn’t breached my conditions.
The next morning I appeared in court to enter my plea in relation to the 3 charges against me. It was a lively hearing, one packed to the rafters with both supporters and the mainstream media. At times there was heckling from the Public Gallery and they did break out into chanting ‘Soubry Is A Nazi’ I entered my plea which was ‘Not Guilty’ and I was re-bailed to appear for my trial on July 19th and July 22nd. I was then told I had to leave the geographical vicinity of the M25 within 2 hours and I was escorted to the train station by 3 Met Police officers.
On Wednesday 20th March 2019 I then appeared at Manchester & Salford Magistrates to answer more charges, I represented myself in the hearing and I’m pleased to say that I managed to get some of my restrictions lifted.
Then yesterday I went to Stretford Police station to sign on as usual on a Monday & Friday, when I arrived I was asked to go into a side room, So I refused and asked why. I was then told I would be arrested for breaching my bail conditions, by visiting the Palace of Westminster. So I was taken into custody and I was told that I would appear before the Court in the morning. I was arrested at 12:45PM, at around 19:30PM an officer came into my cell and told me that I would be going home, I was shocked I had previously been told I would be appearing before a Judge in the morning.
Details of my arrest are below
Offence 1: Arrest by constable for breaking/likely to break bail conditions-this is NOT an offence
Police Station: South Manchester Date 18/03/2019
Greater Manchester Police has decided that no further action will be taken at this time in respect of the offence(s)After consideration of the evidence and other information that is currently available the decision was that;
Grounds No Longer Justified
A decision not to charge may be reconsidered if a review of the decision indicates that it was clearly wrong and should not be allowed to stand.
This notice only applies to the offence(s) specified above. If you are currently on bail to return to the police station in respect of these offence(s) it will not be necessary for you to return. It is important to note that any bail conditions imposed in relation to any other offences will still apply.
The fact that no further action is being taken at this time does not prevent an aggrieved party pursuing criminal proceedings or civil remedy
I feel this is yet another attempt by the powers that be to intimidate me into silence and also to serve as a reminder that they can pretty much operate with immunity. I will be taking the matter further.
